              Hampton's Hope

I met my sweet husband in the fall of 1988. I had just been hired at Blue Ridge Elementary as a third grade teacher and he was teaching 4th grade. We became best friends and spent all of our time together. Eventually, Chuck asked me on a real date and I accepted. We were married in June of 1989 in an outdoor ceremony at my home in Morgantown, WV.
Before we knew it, we had our wonderful girls, Lindsey and Chelsea. Our lives were not perfect, and we have certainly had our trials. But, I think we've learned that God gives us the strength we need to face the challenges we must.
Chuck was diagnosed in December of 2008. He suffered with "non-essential tremors" for many years before deciding to take medication as the tremors affected his writing. He wanted to go about his life without the difficulty of the tremors.
In 2005, Chuck began as principal at CTMS, at the time it was one of the largest middle schools in WV. He saw a dr. because of some issues he was experiencing with his legs. I assumed that the discomfort was a result of walking the halls of a large building. I was wrong. As a principal, he faces numerous challenges every day, his symptoms are now a part of his daily challenges. He seldom complains and utilizes all his energy to be the best husband, dad and friend that he can. I have no idea where this journey will take us, but I know that Chuck has many people willing to take the journey with him.
